Gilgit Baltistan Departmental Development Working Party (GBDDWP) Approves 116 New Projects Worth Rs1bln
GILGIT: The Gilgit Baltistan Departmental Development Working Party (GBDDWP) Thursday approved 116 new development projects related to health, education, clean drinking water, and others key sectors worth Rs one billion, to provide better services to people of the province.
The approval was giving during a high-level meeting presided over by the Secretary Planning and Development, Babar Aman and attended by senior officials of different departments.
The meeting reviewed new schemes and 133 ongoing development projects of the current fiscal year with special focus on scrutiny of projects proposed by the members Legislative Assembly, which were included in Chief Minister Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The projects included in CM SDG program are related to provision of clean drinking water, construction of linking roads, transmission and delivery of electricity system, embankment walls, water drainage, health and education sectors in the province.
A mega project for improvement of esthetic look of Gilgit City, Central Jail Gilgit, solarization, installation of smart meters, establishment of mines and minerals inspectorate and press clubs GB were approved by the forum. Two mega projects with Rs 1.93 billion cost for sewerage system in Gilgit were recommended for approval.
