Lubna Ahmed from Gilgit Baltistan receives Gold Medal at 27th Convocation of the University of Karachi
KARACHI: The 27th Convocation of the University of Karachi was held at Campus’s Valika Ground on Saturday. As many as 1,961 passing out students were conferred degrees on the occasion.
In all, 168 gold medals were also awarded to those who secured first positions in their respective departments.
The degrees and madels were conferred by the Vice Chancellor Karachi University, Prof. Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan.
Lubna Ahmad from Sost Gojal village of Gilgit Baltistan was among 168 blessed students who received Gold Model for her outstanding academic performance in B.S (Hon) Sociology.
Speaking to Sost Today, Lubna said, it is not a stress-free job to maintain high score throughout eight semesters. One has to show zeal and put efforts to achieve any goal. Beside my hard work and dedication, my parents always stood by me and never let me down at any stage of my studies, their endless moral and financial support my dreams true. Lubna further said.
Replying to a question she said that being a female student, getting education far away from home is a challenging in a male dominant society. A female student has to face more hurdle, especially during research work and field work where we had to interact with different background of people. I must thank my mentors and department administration for their tireless support. She added.
Lubna did her schooling from Aga Khan Diamond School Sost and Hunza. She went to Rawalpindi for further education where she did intermediate in commerce with good grades. In 2013 she was enrolled in University of Karachi.
